UM Lora E5 Shield
Overview
The UM Lora E5 Shield is an expansion board compatible with TinyPICO, TinyS2, TinyS3, TinyC6, and ProS3 development boards. It features an E5 LoRa module from Seeed, that contains an ARM Cortex M4 ultra-low-power MCU and LoRa SX126X.
Key Specifications
The module supports multiple frequency ranges including EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, KR920, and IN865. It offers bandwidth options of 62.5kHz, 125kHz, 250kHz, and 500kHz in LoRa mode, plus (G)FSK mode compatibility.
Features
- LoRa E5 Module from Seeed Studios
- STEMMA/QT I2C connectors
- JST PH battery connector
- On-board 3V3 LDO regulator with IO-controlled power management
- Dual antenna options: u.FL and SMA connectors with selectable bridge (u.FL selected by default)
Communication & Power
Users communicate with the E5 module via UART using designated IO pins. The shield is powered from the 3V3 pin of your TinyX board.
Important: The power enable pin must be activated in code, otherwise the module remains unpowered and will not respond.
Development
The module uses AT command-based firmware. Any language supporting serial connections works; Arduino libraries are also available.
